Dead End Streets
03:22

Some travelers like to take the highways
Where they can speed along without a care
Some like a leisure stroll down a lovely, tree-lined thoroughfare
But me, I got this thing about earning what I got
And I’ve learned you get a longer way by learning where to stop
And venturing too far from home never did extend my reach
So I’ll take dead end streets
I’ll take dead end streets
Some need to see their destination
And GPS to know the route is clear
Some fly the friendly skies to escape this hostile atmosphere
But me, I'm not afraid cause there ain't nothing I ain't seen
And I'm proud that I can cut my path without tiny screen
And running out of road made me learn to use my feet
Me, I got this thing about earning what I got
And Me, I'm not afraid cause there ain't nothing I ain't seen
And I’ve learned you get a longer way by learning where to stop
And I'm proud that I can cut my path without a tiny screen
So I'll take dead end streets
I'll take dead end streets
I'll take dead end streets

The Break
04:28

Trusting’s an easy decision
when closing your eyes and drowning your vision
in a desperate attempt to find something true
but some truth might not be what’s expected
and closed eyes might be truth neglected
and before you know, you don’t even know you
so I made a break ‘cause I hated
the man that I thought that I was
geography never solved nothin,
but coming home sometimes does
So it was
Vision is so damn confusing
So clear, yet so prone to illusion
You see what you see to feel like you want to
But truth feels like cuts with a blade
When you know the mistakes that you made
And the paper-thin veils that you couldn’t see through
so I made a break ‘cause I hated
the man that I thought that I was
geography never solved nothin,
but coming home sometimes does
So it was

Survivable
03:51
|
|||
You make me laugh, I make you bend down to kiss me
but I already wonder why you’d try to dismiss me
Get into to me and I’ll eventually get used to you
Every Friday night you hold me so tender
but there’ll come a time I’m gonna have to surrender
expose my wounds and have some faith you can make them new, but
Is it survivable to take you by the hand
Is it survivable to make you my man
Surviving falling in love is something I think I could do
But could I survive the day you say we're through
Maybe you could try do less to get attached to
like calling me the lost sock you are the match to
and if you wanna stay you should not look at me that way
Cause give me one too many reasons to miss you
And it won’t be you, it might be me who dismissed you
Or you can go the easy way and promise me you’ll stay and
Is it survivable to take you by the hand
Is it survivable to make you my man
Surviving falling in love is something I think I could do
But could I survive the day you say we're through
could I survive the mystery
and erasing one more history and resisting every urge to talk about it
cause I’ve taken my last breath before
and there’s no reviving me no more and if it just might kill me, I just
might live without it
So is it survivable to take you by the hand
is it survivable?

I know a girl who's a little bit blown away
I know a girl who's a little bit blown away
She has a breakdown every night
and wakes up with the morning light
Just so she can work a longer day
I know a guy who's in love with jealousy
I know a guy who's in love with jealousy
He keeps track of where she's been
and what she's going dancing in
I'm surprised she don't just up and leave
I know a girl who's mean to her boyfriend
I know a girl who's mean to her boyfriend
She won't even let him sing
the songs that he has been writing
He just stays because she pays the rent

I listened to XPN through Philly and YEP through Pittsburgh
On my way to the shores of the largest natural lake in the State
I lived through boy bands and I lived through disco
I thank the Lord the soundtrack to my life turned out so great and
Pennsylvania’s rolling hills and- growing fields feed me
Her evening sky this fourth of July frees me
From the things that keep me down in another town
And no matter where I go, I’m always coming home
It’s been two years now and I swear I plan to call her
The earth beneath my wheels reminds me of the plans we made
I blast the music and try not to think about her
The scenery speeds me behind like I left her that day, but
Home is where I always heard the heart is
Home, I haven’t cared but now I’m looking for it
Home, I feel the strength of where I’ve been my best
Home, I finally think I can begin again cause
Pennsylvania’s rolling hills and- growing fields feed me
Her evening sky this fourth of July frees me
From the things that keep me down in another town
And no matter where I go, I’m always coming
And no matter where I go, I’m coming home
